New From Cactus Country

Here are the two latest offerings from Cactus Country. Dusty Richards and Brett Cogburn are both cowboys who write from the heart.

This collection of 12 western short stories by author Brett Cogburn are the best in short fiction that this editor has read in a long, long time. The title story, The Devil's Hoofprints, is about slavery, and human nature, and Native Americans, and man at his best and worst. Cogburn's writing has been honed and perfected over the years, and his knowledge of the west comes naturally. He's the real deal...a man who still lives the cowboy way. Many of you might recognize the cover, it's a Frederick Remmington and fits the stories perfectly.
Dusty Richards is at it again. This wonderful tale of cattle drives, western intrigue, and a true cowboy's love affair, is the first in his Frank Brothers Series. Outlaw Queen will keep you on the edge of your seat, and it'll show you a period of the West that was dangerous and raw as cattle drives ruled the land. Dusty's portrayal of a woman unknowingly involved in the nortorious James Gang is beautifully written and tells another side of the story.

Both books will soon be available on Amazon, at your favorite bookstore, or directly from the publisher...High Hill Press. http://www.highhillpress.com/

  4. Sorry to be so slow in answering comments. This new western division is keeping me hopping. I asked Dusty how many books he might have in this Frank Brothers' series and he said, "Could be a hundred." He writes all day and in his sleep, so I'm not so sure that number might turn out to be correct. Hope I live long enough to publish all of them. I'm having a heck of a good time.
